10TH DEC 2012 ROADWORKS AT THE SIGNALISED JUNCTION BESIDE THE STILLORGAN LUAS STOP
The Council has received numerous complaints from motorists about the operation of the traffic lights at the Junction at Stillorgan Luas Stop and Kilmacud Road Road (formally known as St Raphaelas Road).
In response to these complaints and to improve the operation and efficiency of the lights at this location, this junction needs to be upgraded.
The Traffic Section will be turning off the signalised junction beside the Stillorgan Luas Stop, i.e. over the Luas tracks at the junction of Kilmacud Road (Saint Raphaela's Road) and Blackthorn Avenue, next Tuesday, 11th December 2012 between 10.00am and 4.00pm. (One day only)
A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation. Also the junction will be manned by the Gardai for the duration of the change-over as the junction will have to allow for live Luas movements during this period.
The new phasing programme has been designed and fully tested to optimise the junction as much as physically possible to cater for all traffic and Luas movements while still accommodating cyclists and pedestrians.
